READY, SET, FLIGHT!!!!!!!
Room
1’s first graders have been busy learning all about flight. The students
have been studying different ways lift is created. After learning about
hot air as a source of lift, the students worked in teams and constructed
hot air balloons out of tissue paper. With the help of parent volunteers
and their teacher Mr. Sarda, they used a camp stove to fill their balloons
with hot air and launched them. As the students continue this unit, they
will look at human made flight machines, insects that fly, and birds. They
will look at this concept through the bigger lense of change: specifically
what stays the same and what changes.
Below are pictures of the great launch in room 1.
